Escape the City: A Day at the Countryside

Can’t say enough good about this well spent day! Anton was the perfect host with the most welcoming beginning, smooth runnings throughout, and a fantastic end result. We toured the Moscow countryside and were exposed to rural villages, educated us about the Russian history and culture, surprised us with the opportunity to try our hand at painting a souvenir doll, treated us to ethnic drinks and snacks, and included gardens and art as he discussed topics that we pursued. Could only regret that we did not have more time to share!

Anton took me around on the most wonderful trip ever. We got to spent time with other locals, spent time at places no other tourists would ever get to and all in comfort of a luxury car while driving. Loved spending my time with Anton. I felt like being with a friend who showed me around to all the places I was hoping to see one day in my life. My expectations surpassed!

Escape the City: A Day at the Countryside

This is a wonderful tour. Anton brought us around which we couldn’t have done it alone. We tasted delicious Russian lunch in this tour. Of course, the most fun memory in this tour was the painting of the Russian doll (where will you get this opportunity?). Anton was very attentive to our needs and have good connections with the local communities. Do not hesitate to book this tour. It is worth your money and time.

Escape the City: A Day at the Countryside

Our tour guide, Anton Permogorov, took us on a nine hour tour of the Russia countryside to see how local Russians live and eat. We were treated to an exceptional day of sights, tastes and experiences. We met and visited with locals after being invited into their homes, visited a restored working Monastery at Trinity Lavra, painted Matryoshka dolls with a local artisan, toured the unrivaled Monastery at Sergiyev Posad and finished the day with a late local lunch of Russian dumplings. Anton was extremely knowledgable and provided us with a wealth of information that made the trip more personal. We had already spent the previous day with Anton on a river cruise (also exceptional and beautiful) and we immediately asked him to take us on this tour. I highly recommend this for anyone who wants to have some small glimpse into the real Russia.

The tour was amazing. We really got to know the Russian culture and visited spots outside the touristic area. Anton was a great host and made us feel welcome in Moscow. I would do this tour again Especially painting the Russian dolls was awesome.

I reserved this for my mom and my cousin and they all said this is the best day they have in Russia. We enjoyed the quiet view in countryside. I would definitely recommended to my friends who came to Moscow.

The day out with Anton was a wonderful experience. THe car was comfortable, the stops were varied and interesting, and the food was fantastic. We weren’t sure about painting the dolls, but in the end it was a highlight for us.

Escape the City: A Day at the Countryside

Anton was the perfect guide for my last day in Russia. His love of the countryside was evident and he was very knowledgeable about all the locations that we stopped at throughout the day. Anton was happy to adjust our schedule based on my preferences, but his suggestions made for a fantastic tour. I’d highly recommend a day trip with Anton!

Escape the City: A Day at the Countryside

When my mom and I arrived in the countryside without people flooding in and out, we knew we were on the right track. The quietness, the trees, the grassland, the waters, flowers, the colorful houses, all ere very delightful. And Anton took us to some secret places which nobody else knows: the Memorial Children’s Garden makes us heartbreaking, while at the same time rejoicing with the new life it brings to people; the house of the famous writer who admired nature and live in the nature peacefully; the carpenter’s collection of the old traditional Russian wooden houses. We learnt a lot with our own eyes. The most impressive experience is the traditional Russian Tea Party. I owe my deepest gratefulness to Anton. We were supposed to have another experience which we have booked separately, Anton came back with a marvelous alternative, which it’s his first share of Russian Tea Party with foreigners! It’s a terrific experience, the hostess Lyudmila gave us not only the history of tea in Russia, the process of the Tea party and the interesting things, but also lots of passion and love. That’s something we would remember Russia for a life time ! I would very much recommend you to take the trip!
